“Swiped” – how patriarchy prevented a woman from becoming a millionaire
USA, 2025, biography, director: Rachel Leigh Goldenberg, starring: Lily James, Ben Schnetzer, Michala Herrold.
This is a cool story based on real events about a woman who was prevented from making a career by the patriarchal system. Whitney Wolfe Herd, a talented American entrepreneur, played a key role in creating the popular dating app Tinder. It was during her time at Tinder that she met one of the company's founders, and the two started a romantic relationship. Her hard work and dedication to promoting the brand were invaluable, and she was assured that she would become a part-owner of the business. However, things took a turn for the worse when she ended the relationship. Her ex-boyfriend, who was also her colleague, made her life at Tinder unbearable, subjecting her to harassment. As a result, Whitney Wolfe Herd was forced to leave the company, a decision that would ultimately lead her to pursue new ventures and opportunities.
Despite the challenges she faced, her experience at Tinder would prove to be a valuable lesson, shaping her future endeavors and fueling her determination to succeed. Will she find the strength to stand up to a world where men decide everything, and will she be able to challenge not only her abusers, but also help women around the world start standing up for themselves and creating safe spaces for themselves? Whitney decides to create her own online platform, Bumble, which will be focused on women, but it won't be easy.
