Che Photographer!!!
Ernesto “Che” Guevara is known for his role as a revolutionary leader and writer, but he was also passionate about photography. During his travels around the world in the period from 1945 to 1959, Che Guevara took numerous photographs that illustrate his experience in different countries and cultures. On this occasion I show you an exhibition of your photos in tribute to your birth.
On a trip he made with his friend Alberto Granado through Latin America on a motorcycle, which inspired the book “Diarios de motocicleta”, Che Guevara took numerous photographs that captured the beauty and diversity of the landscapes and the people they found on their way. These photographs are a testimony of Che Guevara’s youth and adventure before his entry into politics and the revolutionary struggle.
Subsequently, during his time as a doctor in Guatemala and his participation in the political struggle in that country, Che Guevara continued to take photographs that document the political and social situation in Guatemala at that time. These photographs show the poverty, inequality and the struggle for social justice that Che Guevara witnessed in his time in Guatemala. Then he continued to travel the world with his camera and create memories.
Finally, during his participation in the Cuban Revolution, Che Guevara continued to take photographs that document the struggle and revolutionary triumph in Cuba. These photographs also show the daily life of Cubans during this period of historical change on the island.
These photographs taken by Ernesto “Che” Guevara during his travels and his participation in the political and revolutionary struggle are a testimony to his passion for photography and his commitment to the visual documentation of historical events and cultures that he found on his way. These are a reminder of Che Guevara’s life and legacy as a political leader, writer and photographer.
