Love, old Careless Love...

Careless love is a beautiful old blues standard of unknown origins. It's definitely been played in New Orleans all the way back to the late 1800s, but no one quite knows where it actually came from.

It's lyrics are usually themed around heartbreak and waywardness...

This song has been recorded by everyone from Lonnie Johnson to Louis Armstrong, to Bessie Smith, Lead Belly, Bo Carter, etc etc.... Pretty much every blues and folk musician does some kind of version of it, whether they know it or not.
