Needlework Your Barbie 2024 - Winner's Announced

Here we are in the fourth year of our favorite annual Needlework Your Barbie contest and once again we have been amazed by all the creativity and love you put into each design.

This year we have had a total of 20 entries, which is great, and we are sure that each year the contest will continue growing and have more and more participants.

We are very grateful for all the entries and for all the people who took the time to stop by the community, read the posts and admire the beautiful designs of our needleworkers.

For this edition of the contest the main theme was flowers, all the designs had to be inspired by some kind of flowers.
This year the jury was made up of the community moderators: @lauramica, @romeskie and @kattycrochet.

We could appreciate the creativity and dedication in each of your projects. As every year, choosing the winners was quite difficult, because all the projects were beautiful. However, we were guided by the following criteria to choose the winners that we present today:

• Final presentation
• Techniques and materials used
• Story/inspiration behind the project
• Originality
• Creativity and level of complexity/difficulty

@carolinacardoza presents a very emotional post in which she dedicates a letter to her little girl from the past. She shows us a dress with a beautiful design in a yellow color, with a wide skirt with embroidered ends. The tiny roses delicately embroidered and the huge bow at the back are the main attraction of this beautiful dress.

Daisies for Barbie

@mdrguez presents a lovely one shoulder asymmetrical bodice design. This dress has a wide skirt with hand-painted daisy flower details. In this post you can see the whole process of printing the fabric to achieve these cute and eye-catching daisies on the black dress.

Fashion Project for Barbie: Creating a Complete Outfit with Thread and Fabric Details

@empoweredwoman crafted an entire outfit for her granddaughter's Barbie. The outfit has many pieces ranging from underwear, boots, hat, dress and coat all inspired by floral details. Beautiful work, congratulations!
