Shared masternode service to introduce private nodes
Shared masternode service Apollon (XAP) has announced its plans to introduce a feature where users can run their own nodes. They call the project RYON, which is short for 'run your own node'. This is one of the way Apollon wants to offer more scalability to their clients.
Apollon gives users the option to invest a little bit into a masternode, and earn an equal share of the profits in return. Everything happens on their platform, ranging from deployment to monitoring. But users will now be able to take full control, including selecting the VPS provider integrated into the platform.
The Vancouver-based masternode service states they will now offer users the cheapest service in the business. The only way a consumer can have cheaper masternodes is by hosting them by yourself. That being said, Apollon hasn't decided yet on the prices for Project RYON. There will be a one time fee for installing the node, and a monthly fee for monitoring and updating the node.
Obviously Apollon isn't the only shared masternodes service. Gentarium (GTM), Gincoin (GIN) and SnodeCoin (SND) are just a couple platforms that offer shared masternode services. All of them offer easy deployment of new nodes, and they get a share of your earnings, or they request a monthly fee paid in their own crypto coin.
Investors can always setup their own nodes on their own VPS. On websites like Vultr.com you can get a VPS starting at a few dollar per month. On one VPS you can run at least four different nodes without any trouble. It requires some technical knowledge and familiarity with Ubuntu and Linux, but there are plenty of guides out there to help you out. When a project is legit, you can always ask for help on Discord.
