Trying out new form of exercise
Since some months I have been wanting to try this out. Bungee fitness is the new thing these days that is in trend in strength training. I have been so fascinated by it that I wanted to do it. Since past few months my back was giving me trouble so I was avoiding it, but now my back is stable so thought of giving it a try. Bungee fitness is real fun trust me, and it's super cardio work as well. I have done 2 sessions so far and I am enjoying it, but I am not sure if I will continue it or not, as it does put pressure on my back and as much as I am loving it I need to be careful with my back.
It's a flying work out, I also wanted to do this because even after years of exercise and Yoga I find my self stiff, it takes time for me to start moving my body freely, and I am fearful of free falls, so this is another reason why I wanted to do it, though there are no free falls here, but the suspended moves does make your body flexible to an extent.
In the bungee fitness basically you are harnessed to a bungee cord which is attached to a ceiling and you do strength, cardio and other moves while partially being suspended on the cord. You experience zero gravity in it and that what gives you the kick. The cord attached to your body takes away the weight of you body by at least 50%, so when you run, jump or squat you feel light. You can jump higher and move faster and you can land safely.
It's a very high cardio workout and it's safe for the knee because the cord is taking all the pressure, so unlike in regular squats where you can feel pressure on knees in bungee fitness it feels safe and you can do more also. Also it's not focusing on just one body part, it's a full body work out where the core is continuously engaged. and one session of 45 minutes burns 400 to 500 calories. Most important it is real fun, that free high jumping and all makes you feel like a child. The results are equal to a very tough work out.
My instructor took a video in the first class, these shots are captured from the video. I am in black :-)
And there we go jumping high. In the first class I could not go very high and also my knees kept getting bent, in the second one I got little better.
After the session I feel so light and also very powerful of my own body. As of now I have enrolled for 8 sessions, let me see how it goes.
