Throwbacks to EBC trek
It's exactly 2 years today when I started on a journey which was one of my life goal to achieve. I have been over protective about myself all through my life. I am not that sports person, nor the one who wants to take physical risks in life. I do not even enjoy sitting on a roller coaster or any other such rides as it makes me feel unsafe, and yet I wanted to do this. I am not a sports person but I am the one who is fitness freak. I always enjoy trekking and hiking and that's why this was one of my biggest goal. Also it was a challenge to myself to do one big thing in life which I can feel very proud of at the end of my life.
Knowing my capabilities I could only think of doing the Everest Base Camp trek, beyond that I know I cannot do it. I am not underestimating myself, I am just being honest and practical about my limits.
It was a solo trek, a journey of 10 days, the first few days felt like a piece of cake, and I kept thinking to myself, why people make such a big deal of it, but then as I kept moving up challenges started, the path got rougher, climate got bitter, food and resources got scantier and every day there was uncertainty and a new challenge. My guide was a very big support, without him I would have possibly given up half way. With all the challenges, he kept motivating me to keep moving, and I managed to complete. I am the first in my family to do such an adventure so yes I had a lot of applause from my family and friends and the pride was way too much for me to handle.
Sharing some photos from the 10 days trek journey to EBC.
