Phewww....this is a task year on year and I just hate doing it. And I am always doing it last minute....hehe. Finally, today I finished my tax filing. It is not me who does it. I have a Chartered Accountant consultant who files my and hubby's income tax returns every year. He does all the calculations and does the task, but I have to send him all the documents which I feel very lazy to do and I always keep procrastinating till the time it just becomes very urgent to do.

While I was working, my office did all of this and all I had to do was submit my form-16. There were consultants who would come and sit in our office to do this task for all the employees. It was a service which our company provided to us for our convenience. We only had to submit our form-16, they would check, verify, fill up the forms and all the details and then file the returns. All I had to do was sign. I must tell you that IT companies will spoil you to the core. With all that luxury I never had to worry about my income tax return filing.

Now that I am not in a job, I have to worry about these things and do it all by myself. The funny part is that I start to worry about doing it right from the month of May and it also gets on my to-do list but then I keep shifting the dates until it just comes towards the last week of the deadline and then I jump on my seat.

This time I was still better but my consultant delayed it. I sent him all the required documents by 2 week of July and then he kept it pending and completed the task last evening and then today morning, after reviewing the document I completed the e-verification process. Now I am relieved and no stress for another one more year :-)
