FIRE location considerations - Capital Gains Tax!

Tax Perspective

As part of my FIRE choosing a location series, the 3rd major consideration that I think we should all consider is the dreaded Capital Gains Tax!

Once you have built up a stock portfolio producing the required passive income, you don't want to loose it all to tax triggered by dividends, the sale of stocks or ETFs. So which countries in europe are best from a tax perspective afer reaching FIRE?

The chart below does not tell the full story though:

The top choices seem to be: Belgium (0%), Portugal (0% with NHR), Bulgaria (10%), Croatia (12%), Czech Republic (0% if you hold more than 3 years) / Greece / Lithuania (15%).

What are your thoughts on the most tax-friendly coutnries for capital gains taxes?
