Untitled Poem
Waking to God’s blue light
Shining through the early morning
Wandering about, ready for the fight,
Winding up and down, still storming.
Out the door, another round.
Knowing he might crown himself
or wake in mourning.
Down the road,
Beyond the mountain toad
Faith beginning to erode
Something still guards the load
Who will break the mode?
Where are we to go
Alongside the trail of broken screams
Silent waters flow
Crashing over the house of dreams
Beneath the depression of the sky
He listens for a reason why
But every answer passes by
Wrapped inside another lie
Faithlessly burning through source
He reaches out into the abyss
Shadows reach back with no remorse
Pre-prepared, he lunges forward and doesn't miss
Now sinking slowly into despair
Kicks over the holy chair
Staring down what's unfair
But winning the battle unaware
