that Prophet Hazrat Muhammed had two grandsons called Hassan and Hussain. Hassan became the Caliph who was killed by Yezid. Hussain fled to Mecca, where he was also killed by Yezid’s men in the battle-field of Karbala. The war continued for ten days. So the Muslims observe the first ten days of the month of Muharram as a period of mourning in memory of Hassan and Hussain. The festival is held in honour of the said two dead heros of islamthis months is know is the frsit month of year but in this month is full of sorrows our prophets Muhammad (pbuh) grandson imam hussain ibne ali was killed on tenth muhram in karbala he give sacrifics his life on the 10 muhram When Yazid couldn’t succeed in getting Imam Husain to speak in his favour he decided to crush his voice by force.
when turn the history pages back we find great sacrifices of the nations but the greatest sacrifice for the cause of Islam was offered by Hazrat Imam Hussain

He gave orders for the annihilation of Imam Husain and his family. On the day of Ashura, when Imam Husain and his followers were offering namaz, his army showered arrows upon them even while they were praying. Now look around you isn’t this what is happening today? Violence targeted at people who are praying? Blasts in masjids and schoole martkets , attacks at peaceful religious processions, shooting bullets at unarmed people? In today’s language, what Yazid’s army was practising was terrorism ? The 10th day is called the “Day of Ashura; Many Muslims fast on the this day on this day, the Muslims offer alms to the poor and feed the hungry. On the following day, they throw the Tazias, which represent the tombs over Hussdin’s grave into the water.
