Million Dollar Meatballs

Ingredients

🍖 1 pound ground beef
🥚 1 large egg
🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
🧀 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
🌿 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
🍞 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🥫 1 cup marinara sauce
🧈 2 tablespoons butter
🧄 1 clove garlic, sliced
🧀 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded


Instructions

1- Prepare the Meatball Mixture:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated. Avoid overmixing to ensure tender meatballs.

2- Form the Meatballs:

  • Using your hands or a scooper, shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  • You should have approximately 12-14 meatballs.
  • Place them on a plate and set aside.

3- Cook the Meatballs:

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes in total.

4- Simmer in Sauce:

  • Pour the marinara sauce over the browned meatballs.
  • Lower the heat and allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for 10-12 minutes, ensuring they’re cooked through.

5- Melt the Cheese:

  • Preheat your oven to broil.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs, cover the skillet, and place it under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

6- Serve:

  • Remove the skillet from the oven carefully.
  • Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with pasta or a warm loaf of crusty bread.
