The crown contains 2,868 diamonds, including the Cullinan II diamond, also known as the Second Star of Africa.
It also features a blue sapphire believed to have come from King Edward the Confessor's ring.
The Koh-i-Noor diamond, weighing 105.6 carats, is set in the crown made for Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
The crown is worn at the end of the coronation and during processions, and only the Queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Crown Jeweller are permitted to touch it.
It is part of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom and is on public display at the Tower of London.
