What else?
One of the things that I can’t get out of my head since the revelations that both Tory and Labour governments hid the import of tens of thousands of Afghans into the UK is the contempt for the British public that the decision itself and the associated legally backed up secrecy represents. Right across the political spectrum in Westminster in both Tory and Labour parties, the attitude seemed to be that it was OK to not tell the public that they had imported thousands of people from a completely incompatible culture into the UK.
Both governments felt it was completely normal and natural to hide from the public the fact that they’d imported not just a whole group of people, the number of which represents a similar population to a small town, who would be a financial burden to us but who also represent a massive security risk. The contempt that our political classes have shown to us is palpable.
The betrayal of Britons by this decision and the subsequent use of a world wide court order to prevent anyone even alluding to the decision is throwing up some huge questions for me. That question is this: What else are the government hiding by court orders? What other similar horrors to that of the Afghan importation scandal are also being hidden from Britons?
We are in a mess and it’s entirely the fault of the British political classes.
