The Vegan Choco-Cunt Buns were Born!

Disclaimer- this post contains the word Cunt, but its not intended as a vulgar word.. welcome to what I have been told is called 'Cunt Craft' It must be a femine thing haha!

I need to catch up on posting yesterday was a good day, in the early evening I walked down to the river. I forgot how fucking awesome it is! I've been here for 3 weeks now and didn't go down there until yesterday

Look how beautiful it is!

I sat on a rock and meditated for some time with just the sound of the flowing river to be heard. It's been a while since I actually meditated. I watched coal tits flying from tree to tree whilst I sat on the rock before heading off they must have had a territory there across the otherside of the river.

...the path has changed a lot down to the river and some of it was unrecognizable, but then I realized I had walked pn the wrong path!
I should have two left turning but I forgot about that, but still ended up at the river.

I saw a friend last week whilst walking up to the village and she said she was living in a tunnel house down at the river and I found it quite easily.

The gate was tied with shut with string so I guess she wasn't in. This woman must be over 70 years old by now and when I met her on the way back from the village she said that she was excited to start her fasting again. I remember 10 years back that she was doing this aswell for a few months at a time just drinking lemon water in the morning. She also taught me the 'Tibetan 5' yoga sequence, dam I wonder how much fitter I would have been if I kept in up the last 10 years 🤣

..and yes she is hardcore!

The path I wanted to walk on was not far from her tunnel house and I remembered as soon as I saw a field that used to have horses there and also the painted stone was still there!

The Crocodile Rock

I wonder how many decades it's been there and who painted it.

Yesterday

..was so hot that I didn't do much in the daytime, I went out in the daytime and died from the heat which made me become useless the rest of the day.

In the Evening though I got active.

I decided I needed to learn how to make some sweet buns, sure I could sell bread but that's actually quite boring, and most people are not able to eat gluten. But with buns and sweet things, people are suddenly not gluten intolerant!

it's a bit off-putting to buy a loaf of bread thats not gluten free, but a cheeky chocolate bun doesnt hurt anyone!

I did originally start off making french bread rolls, but then started to mix parts of another recipe together and then suddenly they had become big chocolate stuffed rolls.

I tried various shapes and they ranged from vaginas (aka Cunts) to Crabs, to normal-looking round buns.

Because I had up mixed recipes, sweet buns ended up being huge and very filling. I have no experience with making vegan chocolaty stuff, but trucklife-family@trucklife-family has and made a mix of dates, cocoa powder and coconut fat.

In the dough I had added some rice milk (the sweet bun recipe said soya milk but we had none,) and some brown sugar to make it sweet, and then came the time to work out how to fill them the best.

This is how they looked when they were baked, and when I took them out of the oven and cut one in half, we cheered at the smell of the self made vegan chocolate filling because it was so delicious.

THE BOAT

On the way back from the river I stopped at the boat. The boat is not a real boat although it was a small yellow rowing boat when I was last here. The boat is what is called a 'free shop' where people drop off things they are not using anymore and other people come and take it when I need it.

Earlier when I was walking down to the river a car was stopped there, and on the way back I noticed that the book section was full, so the person with the car was dropping lots of books off. It's nice to have a book, and it's been months since I read one. I saw one that caught my eye and left another one that looked cool, but the I did end up taking two with me when a sci-fi caught my eye.

IMG_20200430_205142.jpg

The Martian is one film that I haven't actually seen and I heard it's pretty epic, so I took it with me. Since my teenage years I haven't read any sci-fi book but I will make an exception with this one. The other book seems quite interesting but it's not what I thought it was so I might return it soon.

Catching up to Today.

It was nice to read some of the book instead of feeling compelled to watch a documentary or a series, and I had a good night sleep.

It's definitely getting hotter because this morning it was warm at 10am. I went to walk the dogs and ended up stopping for a joint with a neighbor down the track but had to go back because I wanted to make a stone pathway because the dogs keep walking on the garden.

We have piles of stones from where we were taking them out so it was very easy just to make a path out of them.

IMG_20200501_101803.jpg

After a short while this part was pretty much made, well enough so the dogs realize this now I path to walk on. I will finish it tomorrow or maybe this evening, who knows!

I had saved them the last bun to try and they stopped by before they went to the Village to grab it. They said it was delish and said it was easily worth 1.50€.

I made three sets of dough before midday, which is enough for 30 buns. I put two lots of dough into the freezer so it can last a couple of days and rise slowly. When I want to use some dough time, it will only need rolling out again and and filling with the date and cocoa mix, and then left to 'proof' which means you let it rise again. They take just 20 minutes in the oven where as bread takes 40!

Mathematics Time!

Working out and writing down measurements for the bun ingredients

This is how they looked today

..not sure why the look smaller though!

After a siesta we went to water everything in the garden, using the compost tea made yesterday. I diluted a glass jar into a 5 liter water bottle which is plenty and we used that to water things with.

The beans got watered lastly after everything else. The second picture is the onions comming along nicely and theres a thin row of radishes that were transplanted and have rooted nicely.

Still small, but the radishes are looking healthy
