Happy Halloween! The evil pumpkin 🎃 La Calabaza Malvada | Digital Art + Pixel Art [Eng-Esp]

Greetings, friends! Happy Halloween! 🎃
It's been a while since I've done a regular digital illustration, and I've chosen today, Halloween, to present you with an illustration of an evil pumpkin, which is a very representative symbol of this special day.

To do this, I chose a canvas measuring approximately 2000 x 2000 pixels and used a brush that I really like, which gives a dotted texture.

I started by creating a sketch, not very clean, but which I gradually shaped, representing a pumpkin with eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a small stem on top, with a mischievous but evil expression at the same time.

Hacia ya algún tiempo que no realizaba una ilustración digital común y he escogido el día de hoy, día de halloween, para presentarles la ilustración de una calabaza malvada, la cual es símbolo muy representativo de este día en especial.

Para ello he escogido un lienzo de alrededor de 2000 x 2000 pixeles y he usado un pincel que me gusta mucho, que da una textura de puntos.

Inicié con la creación de un boceto, no muy limpio, pero al que le fui dando forma poco a poco, representado por una calabaza con ojos, nariz, boca y un pequeño tallo arriba, con una expresión traviesa, pero malvada al mismo tiempo.

As for the coloring, in this case I didn't apply any base coat beforehand, I just started painting over this blank sketch. The main thing was to add shadows to give the illustration depth, and then apply the highlights.

For all this, I used dark and light orange tones and yellow, and so, little by little, I filled the pumpkin with colors, shadows, and highlights until I achieved the desired result.

En cuanto al coloreado, en este caso no aplique ninguna base previa, solamente comencé a pintar sobre este boceto en blanco, lo principal fue agregar sombras, con el fin de darle profundidad a la ilustración y luego la aplicación de las luces.

Para todo esto utilicé tonos anaranjado oscuros, claros y amarillo y así fué que poco a poco fui rellenando la calabaza con colores, sombras y luces, hasta obtener el resultado deseado.

Then I used this result as a reference and made the pixel version, where I think the pumpkin looks more aggressive and evil. 🤭

Luego tomé de referencia este resultado e hice la versión en pixeles, en dónde creo que la calabaza luce más agresiva y malvada. 🤭
