Deer Encounter
Due to our wide open spaces, grasslands, hills, and forests all within the city limits, Calgary is home to many deer in some of our larger parks. I see them often near spots with some trees to provide some cover, and it can come as a surprise to see the head of a deer pop up suddenly as it notices you while they graze through the wilderness. I generally try not to startle them and give them plenty of space when I do so they don't feel like I am a disruption.
