Teotihuacan,Mexico

Fun Facts About Teotihuacán
1. Teotihuacán means "The City of the Gods” in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs — even though the city was already abandoned when they found it!
2. It was once one of the largest cities in the world. At its peak (around 500 AD), Teotihuacán had over 100,000 inhabitants.
3. The Pyramid of the Sun is the third-largest pyramid in the world. It stands 65 meters (213 feet) tall — and was built without metal tools or the wheel.
4. No one knows who built it. The true origin of the Teotihuacán civilization remains a mystery — it predates the Aztecs by centuries.
5. The layout of the city is astronomically aligned. The pyramids and main avenue align with celestial events like the solstice and movements of Venus.
6. It was a multicultural metropolis. People from all over Mesoamerica lived there, including Zapotecs, Maya, and Mixtecs.
7. The entire city was painted. The pyramids and buildings were once covered in vibrant murals and red paint.

Teotihuacán isn't just a place — it’s a portal to one of the most mysterious and advanced ancient civilizations in the world.
