Hi Steemians, in a bid to mark the World Antibiotics Awareness Week(WAAW), I'll be sharing some facts about this special class of drugs called Antibiotics.
Antibiotics are drugs that kill bacteria or prevent them from multiplying and having kids!! 😁.
Bacteria on the other hand are tiny living things which are just everywhere.... And I mean EVERYWHERE. So these tiny guys could be helpful and also very harmful.
So when they become harmful and tend to cause problems, the antibiotics act like exterminators and take them out....I mean these buddies are just too good at what they do.

Now here's fact #1
Antibiotics are only active against bacteria, not viruses, Not fungi, not sperm cells and definitely not allergies.

Fact#2
When antibiotics are inappropriately used by humans, the bad guys(bacteria) become resistant and immune to the effects of the drugs.... And yes they Become SUPERBUGS. These new guys are just so hard to kill. So they thrive and keep on damaging the human system.

Fact#3
Due to misuse and abuse of these good buddies, so many SUPERBUGS are being born and there are very few antibiotics to exterminate them.... And this definitely spells DOOM!!!😱😱😱.

So for today, I'd like us all to know and also tell our friends about the rising problem of Antibiotic Resistance and the Rise of Superbugs.
-The advice of a healthcare professional must be sought before using any antibiotics.
-All antibiotics should be take as prescribed by your healthcare professional.
-Antibiotics are not to be shared....i mean just because it worked for Tom doesn't mean it's gonna work for Harry.
-Left over antibiotics should not be taken ..... just because Tom came down with the same symptoms as Harry doesn't mean Tom should take Harry's left over pills. A proper laboratory analysis and diagnosis should be carried out

SUPERBUGS are on the rise... The world is running out of solution.... Let's save ourselves with the little we have.
Let's STOP ANTIBIOTICS ABUSE AND MISUSE.
