We need to adopt a more Hippocratic foreign policy: first, do no harm.
Things aren't going so great in Ukraine.
That's why our legacy media has stopped reporting on it and has instead moved on to the next hobgoblin. That's how they dupe you. And if you never think about the fact you were wrong, you never have to confront the reasons you were wrong.
Maybe this time we can learn from past mistakes, and understand that:
- Your gun control regime will not work
- Your Green New Deal climate change regime will not work
If you want a better perspective on the most important events of the day, don't read about the most important events of the day. Instead, look to those whose observations have stood the test of time, people like the sage of Baltimore, HL Mencken.
"The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it. Power is what all messiahs really seek: not the chance to serve."
Think about Mencken's observation the next time someone tries to manipulate you into supporting a cause — the next time you hear, "Look at this horrible thing! If you just give lots of money and power to me and my friends, I promise we will fix it!"
Freedom literally depends on you internalizing and generalizing this lesson. For the love of everything good in this country, be harder to manipulate.
