Using children as political prop shields is disgusting.
In Texas, the mother of a child who was born a boy who the mother started raising as a girl at the age or four ended up speaking before the state house of representatives about a bill at the age of eight.
I don't want to talk about the trans-women in sports issue again here. This is a bigger problem - the exploitation of children for political gain.
When Greta Thunberg first rose to prominence, yes, there were a lot of assholes who attacked her personally. Most people I know, including me, just felt sorry for her and I still do. I don't know who is more disgusting, the people who attack a child or the people who use the child as a prop.
To the latest example in Texas, what eight year-old decides by his or her own volition to spend time as a political activist? Can you honestly say that, as an eight year-old, it every occurred to you to spend a day speaking to a state legislature?
The HBO documentary Transhood was at least bold enough to show a child tell her mother that the political activism and tours are destroying her life. The mom kept pressing that her child stay public.
I don't know how people don't see what you're doing. Fact checking a forty year-old is fair game; but, the moment that you say that Greta Thunberg is wrong, you can shout that we're attacking a child.
Just stop doing it. Make your own arguments as an adult and don't use kids as a shield. It's child abuse.
