So imagine you were so petty that you pulled a vital satellite system from orbit above a war torn country because they weren't prepared to give all their conquered terrain over to an invader just because you told them to as a peace plan?
Or you called a diver a paedophile and doubled down on it just because they had a plan to rescue some stranded Thai children from a cave which didn't involve your grandstanding mini sub?
And this is the guy you want in charge of your oxygen on mars? This is the guy you want selling you self drive cars? The day he wakes up petulant is the day you are crashing and gasping for breath. For lols.
It's a question of whether or not we SHOULD live or die on the whim of billionaires.
Or governments for that matter
My father used to say if you are not prepared to do a thing, don't offer. Don't do the thing for the wrong reasons and resent it.
We stand on the cusp of an age of neo-patronage, like Renaissance Italy. Where if you have the contacts and you know how to effectively toady you will get things done, or get contracts, or be on the news espousing your opinions or whatever. And the rest of us will live or die on the whim of the rich.
That's not a world that I want. Not for me. Nor for my children. Not for anybody's children.
And yet, increasingly, that is the world we have. A world of billionaire narcissists doing whatever the hell they want whenever they want because nobody can stop them. Could you trash the stock value of a company you wanted to buy? No, you could not.
