Pain in the ass - Literally

So for those of you who have been following my exploits, you may know I posted awhile back about needing to have a colonoscopy and possibly a Hemorrhoidectomy a few weeks back.

Well it turns out I did need the procedure. The surgeon did not know whether my Hemorrhoids were internal or external, and because that is one area of the body you cannot relax, no matter how hard you try, he was not going to be able to know which type we were dealing with until he had me sedated.

So this morning I went in to the surgery center, took a nap, and woke up will a bandaged ass. Turns out I had three external Hemorrhoids that needed removing. Two large, one small, for whatever that means.

Unfortunately, if they had just been internal, he could have snipped them and sent me on my way and I would be back in work on Monday. But since they are external I'll be on pain meds for the next week and unable to resume my normal schedule. So a week of quality rest time doesn't suck, though it does mean using paid leave I was saving for around the holidays. ahh well.

So here I sit, checking out the movies available for me to stream while I shift my weight from one butt cheek to the other in an attempt to keep everything shifted to one side versus both because that is better for the healing or whatever.

Guess I'll be doing some posting too. Yippee!
