Blood Orange : ππ§‘β€οΈ
Hello everyone! Today, we're introducing a super fruit with numerous benefits, as you can see in the picture: blood oranges. Outwardly, they resemble regular oranges but are slightly thicker. The peel may have dark red spots or streaks on an orange background, which doesn't reflect the intensity of the flesh inside. The flesh ranges from bright red to deep red or purplish, depending on the variety and growing temperature. Blood oranges have a sweet and tangy flavor that's more intense than regular oranges, with a unique aroma similar to a raspberry.
Blood oranges are rich in antioxidants, anthocyanins, and vitamin C, which helps brighten skin, reduce wrinkles, slow cell aging, and boost immunity. They also aid in fat burning, reduce belly fat, and support cardiovascular health. Their primary benefit is skin care; some cosmetics use blood orange extracts to reduce wrinkles, while others incorporate them into beverages. With so many benefits!
For those looking to lose weight, as mentioned, blood oranges can help with weight loss and lower blood pressure and cholesterol. The compounds in blood vessels help accelerate the use of old fat as energy and inhibit the accumulation of new energy.
This season, there are plenty of blood oranges available. I love waking up every day and squeezing them into juice to drink. I love blood orange season because they're cheap, and you get to eat those perfectly bruised, delicious, sweet, and slightly sour oranges.
