HILLS AND HERMITS

I am back again for another #bringmechallenge and this one is to bring a rock bigger then your head.
So the other day I took a drive up the hill and took some photos. This hill is actually close to home and my kids and I enjoy going for walks there. It was a nice day and I took the opportunity to take a photo of the rocks required for the challenge and a view from the lookout near to them. Whilst I was there I could hear some Birds in the trees and managed to take a photo of one flying between the trees. As I was leaving I also seen some kangaroos and managed to get a photo of them also.

The hill is basically a big rocky hill in what is other wise and inland plain. There is a lake on one side of the hill and on the other is the town in which I live. There is also another hill range about 20 minutes drive to the east that has some nice walking tracks also. Other wise it is a very flat area and any trips we take out of town start with long straight roads with nothing but crops and fields to look at.
Years ago there was a hermit that lived on the hill and built a cave into his home he mostly kept to himself and only interacted with the community when he needed food, from the stories I have heard. A funny story about something that happened to him which would not have been funny at the time was that he had seen pictures of a Swastika in the paper and thought it looked cool. so he used a rock to draw it on a wall of his home. This being the sign of the enemy that our troops was fighting lead some to believe that he was a Nazi spy which was not true according to the stories and he was later left alone after they discovered that he just liked the image and did not rally know or care about the war that was going on.

That’s a bit of information about the hill and the hermit that used to live there.
