Shadow, checkered, black and white

Today I don't have much to say about these photos, except that they represent something I really like: checkered patterns. Maybe it's because of my emo phase as a teenager, maybe it's because I just like it, black and white, simple, bare and symmetrical. It's no wonder that one of the greatest games ever invented is played on a checkered table. How powerful is its influence on us?

But anyway, I'm not a photographer and I don't care about techniques. I just like doing this: taking some photos that sometimes don't even make sense, but that I simply want to capture.

The first photo is of a place I really like to visit, and I liked the way the shadow was superimposed on the grid. The second was taken during a walk in the middle of nowhere, when I found an abandoned house. On the outside porch, already overgrown with weeds, there was a checkered floor that matched my Vans, also checkered, perfectly.

Hoje eu não tenho muito a dizer sobre essas fotos, apenas que elas representam algo que eu gosto muito: o quadriculado. Talvez seja por causa da minha fase emo na adolescência, talvez seja porque eu simplesmente gosto disso, preto no branco, simples, nu e simétrico. Não é à toa que um dos maiores jogos já inventados é jogado em uma mesa quadriculada. Qual será o poder de influência disso sobre nós?

Mas enfim, não sou fotógrafo e não ligo para técnicas. Eu apenas gosto de fazer isso: tirar algumas fotos que às vezes nem fazem sentido, mas que eu simplesmente quero capturar.

A primeira foto é de um lugar que gosto muito de visitar, e curti o jeito como a sombra estava sobreposta ao quadriculado. Já a segunda foi tirada durante uma caminhada no meio do nada, quando encontrei uma casa abandonada. Na varanda externa, já tomada pelo mato, havia um chão quadriculado que combinou perfeitamente com o meu Vans, também quadriculado.
