Universal Basic Income with mannabase

Universal Basic Income seems to be a growing topic of conversation here in the States, as at least one 2020 presidential candidate is making it a major talking point of his campaign. There have also been several trial runs at providing UBI to citizens around the world, most notably in Finland recently.

There are several crypto-based UBI programs currently up and running. Most Steemians are familiar with Hive account@steembasicincome (if you aren't, and you use the Steem blockchain regularly, you should purchase some SBI shares), and Electroneum has been making waves in the crypto space, but both of those have a certain level of barrier to entry. With SBI, you need to post or comment here to realize the benefit, and with ETN you need to have a mobile device, and install their app on your phone.

But mannabase only requires you to have an email address. Once you sign up, they will send you a share of the weekly pool amount of manna each week. Manna is currently not worth much, but the company has been pretty active lately, so it wouldn't surprise me if they start making some noise before long. It seems like their focus lately has been on promotion and getting investors, as their git and website don't appear to have been updated in quite some time. But their social media channels list out the things they've been up to. They recently burned a bunch of manna, as a step toward finalizing their distribution strategy (but also massively reduced the supply), and they've been pitching the concept to universities and potential investors.

The other thing I like about manna is that it's distributed by a nonprofit organization, so their motives really do seem to be pure. Their goal is to give a basic level of income to anyone (well, anyone with access to a computer).
