[Pocket Silver Challenge] Louis in the UP

Just returned from a week in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We spent a lot of time in the woods, hiking to waterfalls. Some of them were quite remote, and we were the only people there. On the other hand, some of the more popular attractions were packed. That's one of the nice things about the UP. If you want to get lost in the wilderness a bit, you certainly can. But you're also not too far from civilization if you happen to want that.

This was one of the popular places; a rock hunter's beach just outside of Marquette. Louis enjoyed his coffee from Dead River Coffee. Does anyone know what the rock with the rust spots is?

Speaking of Dead River, this was another spot we visited outside of Marquette. This was a great spot for the kids, because there were lots of rocks to climb around on, and 8 separate waterfalls to see in less than a mile. If you find yourself in Marquette and enjoy a short hike, if highly recommend spending some time here.

In the Munising area we visited Miner's Castle...

... but then found some more remote hikes.

After our hiking, we got some ice cream, and look what we found! A shout out to one of my favorite steemians: fat-elvis@fat-elvis

It was a great vacation; lots of time in the woods with my family, which is exactly what I'd want.
