Natural Medicine & Steem: Can It Make A Difference?

I heard something interesting tonight in regards to the idea of personal transformation. I was attending a seminar with my client; he's participating in a process about exploring his relationship with money.

The facilitator said that often when people are invited to enter into any form of change-work, they automatically assume that there must be something wrong with them.

The thing is, this isn’t necessarily the case. It’s not that there is something wrong with you; rather that there is lots of things right with you, which you’re not acknowledging or acting upon.

Liu Yiming, who was a scholar of alchemy from the Quánzhēn (Complete Reality) school of Taoism, emphasised in all of his work that the problem we have is not that we have “problems”, but that our true nature is buried beneath layers and layers of “acquired conditioning”.

This is the mistake many of us make in healing; we keep looking to ‘fix’ our problems by attending classes, workshops, seminars, and so on. We keep trying to ‘learn new things’, as if by continuing to learn stuff will somehow magically cure us of our what we think our problems are.

It’s an interesting game to be playing in our heads, isn’t it?

I keep learning new things because deep down I have the self-belief that I’m not enough. Weird fucking story. Don't get me wrong, I love my mind being tickled by novelty, and love being perpetually curious and wanting to learn new stuff. But the wounded part of me is doing it to make up for perceived deficiencies.

I realised tonight I need to play a new game. I think I've already found myself unconsciously playing this new game, just not realising it yet. I'm starting to get a sense of what this game is though.

The game is more than just an outcome; it has some other component. Tonight I was challenged to ask myself:

What is my intention?
Is it generative?
Does it light me up and turn me on?

Whatever this new game is, it has to be about making a difference.

I realised that we have at our fingertips an incredible resource and potential for some serious game-changing here. I'm talking about the Steem blockchain. Not just the tech, but the people, the talent, the visions, the know-how.

And I'm really proud to see that Natural Medicine is part of that, as are all the other Tribes that have emerged.

naturalmedicine.io is more than just the creation of a token; it’s more than just a platform for content creators to earn rewards.

It's about those people who hold unique wisdom and experience to have a platform and an audience to share their unique and special gifts. I realised this is why I don’t upvote posts that are simply regurgitating information I could find anywhere with a simple Google search.

I want to see this platform become a hub of learning and sharing. I want to see it become an incubator of ideas and research; I want to see all the changes in the world that come about through the networks of hearts and minds that meet here.

For that to happen, we need to see people step away from seeing this eco-system as a place to earn crypto-rewards; we need to move beyond mining the place for rewards, like conventional farmers, sucking all the nutrient from the soil and giving nothing back.

Let's make a difference — what do you think? What are you going to do different?

I challenge you to commit to making a difference in your life, to the world, and to this blockchain community. See my last post on how I'm giving away STEEM, SBI, and LOTUS to those who dare do something different to make a difference.
