Let's assume

There are a lot of people already lining up to sweep everything under the rug (is this irony? I'm not sure) and continue to support her influencing efforts. But I suspect it has more to do with the pretty face and her figure, and nothing more.

I could assume, and maybe this is the case, that she had a team of scammers present themselves as businessmen of the cryptospace come to her with the plan, and her not knowing any better went along.

But even if I'm willing to accept that she did not know their true intentions, I can't accept nor should you that she did it all for love. She must have been offered some money, because money makes the world go round after all.
