I'm not going to lie, I've never been a fan of the genre, but as the same time I could accept the fact that Kanye was (is?) a talented artist. That being said, he seems to be laser focused on destroying everything he's built, for reasons nobody can understand.

It's been more than a year already when Kanye showed up to Alex Jones' show wearing a really weird outfit, talking about how Hitler was just misunderstood.

I remember watching some clips of that conversation and laughing at the fact that Alex was trying to help Kanye save his reputation, while Kanye was too busy destroying all the credibility he had left.

Later he appeared on Lex Friedman's podcast, and double down on his crazy ideas. An episode that I did watch for educational purposes (my excuse, anyways).

The conclusion after his podcast tour was to anyone who cared to listen, to really listen to his message: "I'm Kanye, and I think Hitler is awesome, I'm a Nazi too". As logical as one mouse being in love with Owls.

What happened?

Your guess is as good as mine, but I suspect it's a combination of a few things, a cocktail of events that lead him down this route of self destruction.

I'm confident he's not lying when he talks about getting shafted with contracts and what not. Why? Because the predatory nature of the record industry is well documented, and he's far from being the only artist who has been taken advantage of. But that is only one element of the equation.

He's disclosed before the fact that he's bipolar, and required medication to keep a level head, so assuming he's off his meds is not an insult, but more like sincere curiosity from those who follow his antics.

All that said

I think he's trying to remain relevant, and that's probably the end game in his mind. As far as I know he's not even doing music these days, and thus maybe an addiction to relevance has made him devise this disgusting ploy.

The fact that he now attacks Elon Musk, saying that Elon has taken his schtick by being anti-jew, speaks volumes.

I'm confident he's two more tweets away of getting banned, and that seems to also be by design.
