My Bank just fired me
I've received this otherwise normal Wednesday with the news that TD Bank—the bank I've been using for fifteen years or so—is no longer for me. I've kept this account open mostly because, in the back of my mind, it felt wise to have a foot in the door, even if it's just the tip of the shoe.
In order for me to keep the account open—and keep it free—I now have to maintain a daily balance above $250. Otherwise, a $15 charge will occur. If you love smelling Sharpie pens, this might seem reasonable to you, but I'm not in that camp.
I'm supposed to believe that it's too expensive to store some money, and thus they need to charge me for it. One would imagine they probably pay some amazing APR on said deposits, but of course they don't. Lovely, I say. Just lovely.
To be fair, the $107 I had to my name there isn't life-changing, and this change of terms is probably the final nail in the coffin for me. No more banks, no more trad-fi for 
Maybe I should be grateful to these bankers. They are truly making me live what I preach.
I can now say I eat my own dog food.
