Do Moths Know They're Beautiful? A Quiet Reflection

Capturing butterflies in photographs is magical, but also frustrating.

‎They never stay still.

‎One moment they land, and then, they're gone. Fluttering freely beyond your reach.

‎I've always admired them, trying for the perfect shot.

‎Today, while cleaning our living room, I noticed something lying on the floor.

‎It's a common owl moth.

‎And I think, this is a special moment, a chance to observe something I usually see in motion.

‎It just rested in my hand, still, unmoving, and no longer alive.

‎And yet, I saw its beauty more clearly than ever.

‎The details were breathtaking.

‎Its wings have intricate patterns, with those striking eyelike markings that stood out the most.

‎It's perfectly designed to scare away predators, a clever illusion of watchful eyes.

‎Up close, the texture was even more fascinating.

‎It looked so soft, almost fluffy, like it was covered in tiny strands of fur.

‎So delicate, yet with such precision.

‎Moths, like butterflies, live such short and fragile lives.

‎Some of them only live for a few days, while others may last a few weeks.

‎But rarely long enough to experience the world the way we do.

‎Anyway, do you think they even know how beautiful they are?

‎Like they have these intricate wing patterns, soft, fluffy bodies, and those mesmerizing markings to protect them..

‎Do they have any awareness of the beauty they carry?

‎Maybe they don't.

‎Well, maybe we are the same.

‎Sometimes, we don't see our own beauty. We usually focus on our flaws, our insecurities, the things we wish we could change.

‎We compare ourselves to others, yet like the moth, we were uniquely created with detail.

‎So just like I appreciated the moth when I held it in my hand, close enough to see every detail...

‎Don't have to wait for someone else to tell you that you are beautiful.

‎Be confident even if you don't always see it.

‎You are beautifully made.

‎Until my next photography...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
