Lesson learnt from the day 2 of the Thanksgiving service

Below are the few lessons learnt from today's Thanksgiving service been the 2nd day of October 2021

Today been the 2nd day of our SPBB which is our Thanksgiving service.

I learnt that God has given us the righteous once the privelledge to call on him in times of trouble and when ever we are in danger that he will answer us.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Is not because you call on God or you always pray to him that you will be safe. If you run or walk in the way of the Lord you will be safe not just calling him alone. You have to also walk according to his well and commandments.....

2nd Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2nd Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

So, not just calling on the name of the Lord but to be righteous and run according to his commandments

Psalms 139:20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

There are many people using the name of the Lord even the evil minded people they sometimes call on God

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

So, if we are to run in this race that is before us which is the race of righteousness we should run patiently and tirelessly

Ezekiel 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committed iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

When the wicked fall they will not have the opportunity of raising up again. But when the righteous fall they will raise up again because him falling, is not intentionally he will be raised up again.

1st Kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

Holiness and righteousness is a way of life we should live because Holiness signifies service to God.

1st Kings 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

What Solomon did in this verse should not happen to us. Walking with God is the way we should run.

Until the day we die, let's keep worshipping God and living a holy life so that we will make it to heaven.
