Chopin - The Pianist Composer

Hi, everyone!

I have recently worked on a topic that also included Chopin. So, I thought of sharing some quick facts about Chopin with you.

Frédéric Chopin was a Polish composer who created more than 230 remarkable compositions belonging to the Romantic period. Considered a child prodigy, Chopin distinguished himself primarily through a large number of piano compositions, being renowned as a composer of the piano.

Although the official cause of Chopin's death was tuberculosis, the topic is still controversial and both the death certificate and the medical autopsy report, requested by Chopin himself during his lifetime, have been lost.

Chopin suffered from tuberculosis affecting his lungs and larynx, aspects that left their mark on a significant period of his life. His musical works seem to echo the composer's suffering in his struggle with tuberculosis. Examples include compositions like Prelude No. 4 in E minor from his time in Mallorca in the years 1838-1839, when tuberculosis brought him very close to death, or Prelude No. 2, which appears to convey the suffering and turmoil the composer experienced in confronting tuberculosis.

Interestingly, Chopin's heart is kept in a Funerary monument on a pillar in Holy Cross Church, Warsaw. For more information about it one can consult (at least): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Chopin
