Terrible advice, which I am guilty of "buying into" as well.

What are some examples?

You're so young. (This makes you procrastinate.)
You've got potential (Even a fucking corpse can be turned into fertilizer, so everyone, dead or alive, has potential)
Leaders are readers. (Not everyone learn by reading. The right thing to say is all leaders are learners.)
Passion is everything. (No it's not. It's fucking over rated)
