Un Pez Extraviado / A Lost Fish

Un pez apareció en la ciudad
sobre el pavimento está,
pobrecito, se va a ahogar
porque agua por acá no hay.

Un perro se acerca con precaución
y decide ayudar sin condición,
trae un palo color marrón
y el pez se agarra de este con determinación.

A fish appeared in the city,
lying on the pavement
poor thing, it’s going to drown
because there’s no water around here.

A dog approaches cautiously
and decides to help without hesitation,
it brings a brown stick,
and the fish clings to it with determination.

El perro se lo lleva con afán
hasta su casa, que cerca está
ahí un jarrón con agua hay
y el perro lo pone en este lugar.

Cuando llega la dueña de la casa,
al ver esto se alarma
revisa el pez que está en la jarra
y sabe que debe hacer una liberación inmediata.

The dog eagerly carries it
to his house, which is nearby,
there is a vase of water there,
and the dog places it inside.

When the owner of the house arrives,
she is alarmed at the sight,
she checks on the fish in the vase
and knows she must release it immediately.

Con cuidado se lleva la jarra
y el perro la sigue con ansias
lleva al pez a una reserva cercana
y ahí el recipiente al lago lanza.

La jarra cae al fondo del lugar
y el pez sale con serenidad
por fin está en su hogar
de dónde nunca más saldrá.

Carefully, he carries the jar,
and the dog eagerly follows him,
he takes the fish to a nearby pond
and there he tosses the jar into the water.

The jar sinks to the bottom of the pond,
and the fish swims out calmly,
