The imposing Punta Ballena Lighthouse is located in the city of Pampatar, La Caranta sector, Maneiro municipality, Nueva Esparta state, Venezuela.

It was opened in 2007, is a complex where the headquarters of the Naval Zone of Oriente and the headquarters of the Pampatar Hydrographic Station, but is always open to the general public, is not limited to serving as a guide to sailors and fishermen.

Another of its functions is its tourist reference, rather, it is one of the stops preferred by visitors who know the entity, this because it has a 360 degree observation angle that shows the blue of the Caribbean Sea and some emblematic places of the Island.

The enormous tower measures 28 meters, has 8 balconies and has an architectural style alluding to the forts of the Spanish colonial period. The Faro's lamp glows more than 28 nautical miles.

The project for the construction of Punta Ballena Lighthouse was created by the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to comply with international safety regulations in the navigation of creating 8 lighthouses located in the most important points of the Venezuelan coast.
