[Eng-Esp] Learning about Artificial Intelligence: UDO Seminar! 👩🏼‍💻✨

I am a fan of learning, I love to know and learn new things and something that is trending and that we should all know to keep up with technology is Artificial Intelligence, this tool is quite useful if we know how to use it and I just had the wonderful opportunity to attend a seminar at the Universidad de Oriente where I could acquire knowledge about it, it was a very productive morning full of learning that today I share with you all!

La Universidad de Oriente del Núcleo de Sucre ofreció al público en general una serie de ponencias a traves de un Seminario donde el tema central era el uso de la Inteligencia Artificial en la educación superior, este seminario se realizó en las instalaciones del Museo del Mar en la ciudad de Cumaná-Venezuela 🇻🇪, fue un evento totalmente gratuito al que tuve el privilegio de asistir. No conocía las instalaciones del Museo del Mar y me pareció muy lindo, la decoración contemplaba figuras marinas, restos oseos de animales del mar y un auditorio bastante cómodo y amplio donde se dictaron las ponencias del Seminario.

The Universidad de Oriente del Núcleo de Sucre offered to the general public a series of lectures through a seminar where the central theme was the use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, this seminar was held at the facilities of the Museo del Mar in the city of Cumana-Venezuela 🇻🇪, it was a totally free event that I had the privilege of attending. I did not know the facilities of the Museum of the Sea and I found it very nice, the decoration contemplated marine figures, remains of sea animals and a very comfortable and spacious auditorium where the lectures of the seminar were given.

Estuve en 2 ponencias magistrales, la primera impartida por la Doctora Zahari de la Villa cuyo tema central era 'La Inteligencia Artificial en la Educación Superior (Alcances y Aplicaciones)', fue un tema bastante interesante donde no solo vimos las ventajas del uso de la Inteligencia Artificial en el área educativa y su importancia sino también sus limitaciones y algunas herramientas de IA aplicadas en la investigación. Luego de esta ponencia tuvimos un coffeebreak y seguimos con el aprendizaje con un nuevo expositor.

I attended 2 keynote speeches, the first one was given by Dr. Zahari de la Villa whose central theme was ‘Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education (Scope and Applications)’, it was a very interesting topic where we not only saw the advantages of the use of Artificial Intelligence in the educational area and its importance but also its limitations and some AI tools applied in research. After this presentation we had a coffee break and continued learning with a new speaker.

El segundo bloque del seminario inicio con la ponencia del Doctor Rafael García quien es actualmente el director del Centro de Tecnología Educativa de la Universidad de Oriente y presento una ponencia muy interesante sobre los mitos y realidades de la aplicación de la Inteligencia Artificial en la educación, nos mostró ejemplos de uso de la inteligencia artificial para la creación de textos, poemas, música, presentaciones en diapositivas y hasta interactuamos en simulación con Geminis, realmente es impresionante todo lo que se puede lograr con estas herramientas y cuan sencilla es su aplicación dentro de la educación, sin duda fue algo muy enriquecedor para mí sobretodo ahora que tengo en puerta la realización de mi tesis de maestría y conocí en este seminario varias herramientas estadísticas que usan inteligencia artificial que se me serán muy útiles.

The second block of the seminar began with the presentation of Dr. Rafael Garcia who is currently the director of the Center for Educational Technology at the Universidad de Oriente and presented a very interesting presentation on the myths and realities of the application of Artificial Intelligence in education, he showed us examples of the use of artificial intelligence for the creation of texts, poems, music, slideshows and we even interacted in simulation with Geminis, it is really impressive all that can be achieved with these tools and how simple is their application in education, It is really impressive all that can be achieved with these tools and how simple is its application in education, it was certainly something very enriching for me especially now that I have in door the completion of my master's thesis and I met in this seminar several statistical tools that use artificial intelligence that I know will be very useful.

I thank God for this learning opportunity through the seminar, it was certainly a morning full of very important knowledge that I hope to apply soon, this kind of events should be done more often because they promote the educational growth of the city!
