🇬🇧 This week’s cruise took us from the island of Sal to that of Maio via Boa Vista. A 5-day cruise for guests wishing to discover this part of the archipelago. The conditions were relatively calm with a light or even soft wind, and a rather calm sea. Enough to allow us to scrutinize the horizon and the surface of the sea! We were thus able to observe twice two groups of dolphins of the same species at two different locations: Steno bredanensis. The first time off about ten miles north of the island of Maio. They came to accompany the boat for a good half hour and seemed to take pleasure in letting themselves be pushed by our wave. Some interactions observed like jumps, sounds...
🇬🇧 The second time I was alone, I had just landed my clients and went to the south of Maio to enjoy a bit 'me by myself'!! A group of Stenos (was it the same group...?) came to pick me up as soon as I got out of bed. I went on them and it seemed to please them. Refusing to go further, I noticed that they insisted on staying in the same area and were very active when I joined them. The conditions were calm, so I decided to join them in the water. It seemed to stimulate them very quickly. They immediately surrounded me, swam with speed around me, and I just had to enjoy it and take a few photos that here!
