🇬🇧 That it feels good to resume normal life, the one that seems obvious to us, which demands no concession, no hesitation, no frustration. Go on a boat, with my floating home, stop where I think the marine chart could offer me a nice dive, and... dive! That’s what I did this morning and what I will do tomorrow morning in the south of the island of Maio in Cape Verde.
🇬🇧 I just arrived on this island that I do not know, I have submitted clients who wanted to visit some islands of the archipelago, and I take a few days for myself to visit the island as I have been used to doing in the past, namely by the funds! A point of rock advances a little into the sea on the south of the island and I decide to stop there to immerse myself a bit.
🇬🇧Diving in Cape Verde has nothing to do with the Indo-Pacific, the Maldives or Mayotte. Here, commercial diving exists because mass tourism exists and it is necessary to occupy one’s world well. But well, exploring without really knowing what I will find has always pleased me and I continue in this spirit. Here, the water drops to less than 20° during the winter, which leaves little chance for coral to develop into imposing sizes. The coral is therefore grazing, small, hence my joy to discover today some gorgonians of a certainly modest size but that I had not observed in Cape Verde since my arrival. A little earlier, while following a fault line, a "gata fish" (sleeper shark) surprised me by coming out of the same fault line where it was resting before I came to disturb it (Sorry!). A beautiful dive that calls for another one for tomorrow. Here are some photos of the gorgonians and the nurse shark.
