LETS TRY THIS INSTEAD

Winter storm broke two branches in this 60 plus year old bush by my house ...

Made a post on it ... @manorvillemike/broken-bush-by-the-side-doors

My options back then were to remove the two branches that were still attached a little and live with the void it would create or remove the whole bush and plant a new one...

Well after looking at the situation after the snow was gone, I decided to try a third solution.. Mending the branches...

I heard this could be done, so went to the internet for info... As long as part of a branch is still attached if held back together there is a chance for recovery..

Looks pretty bad...but nothing ventured nothing gained..

I would need a few things ...

Pruning shear, tape, like duct or adhesive gauze and some kind of wire to hold the branches in place...

Decided to go with the gauze instead of the duct tape... Had the gauze left over from something one of the cats needed from the Vet... Thought the duct tape adhesive would be to messy... Also the gauze could be stretched and air could get into the wound better...

Here's the end product...both branches back in place .. May use more wire (wire is #12 electrical wire with plastic insulation that won't dig in so much )..

I then use the shears to thin out the branches to remove some weight and have less material for the plant to feed...

Ok ... the chances are this will not work ... but Have nothing to lose...

All back together hiding my Electric and gas meters.. 😊
