Free and Fair Trade Are Impossible Without Sound Money.

In this report, I cover the early market action from London on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019. I look briefly at the precious metals, the stock market, the dollar, the bond market and the price of oil.

Today I look into the subject of trade which is a hot subject especially with the current trade negotiations between the U.S. and Chinese governments.

My premise is that we need to look at what trade really is and that it is, in fact, a transaction between individuals and that can also evolve to a transaction between organizations like companies or corporations. I look at how trade has evolved from bartering value for value and then into an indirect exchange where the most marketable commodity or money facilitated that indirect exchange.

In our current world fiat money system, it is impossible to have free and fair trade as countries will always manipulate their currencies in order to unfairly give an advantage to economic actors with their political sphere.

My conclusion is that without abolishing Central Banks and putting the world on a sound money basis we will not see a resolution to the problem of trade imbalances.
