Cyclical in nature, separated by well defined intervals, there is a constant state of perpetual motion from one segment to the next. Bearing witness to the repetitive nature of a quantifiable series of revolutions, a familiarity exists as to what is next to come for those touched by the same. The recurring historical perspective, serves to provide a level of certainty, of which seasons are so connected. A unique opportunity thus presents itself, whereby better preparation for the statistically most probable, can as a result take place.

Though the duration of a well defined cycle may be permanently set, the most probable contents contained therein, are still subject to change. We need not look any further than the potentially apocalyptic affects of climate change, on full display before our very eyes. With global temperatures evidently on the rise, and melting ice sheets highlighting the dire situation before us, mankind is observing first hand the mapping out of an updated version. Like the ebb and flow of the tide, rising sea levels resultant to the selfish actions of the collective.

Scorching summers, raging wild fires, increasingly frigid winters, droughts lingering on for what seems like an eternity, devastating floods and the like, all wreaking havoc to the seasonal structure - which we once could rely on. Although much has indeed changed, a basic principle remains the same. Irrespective how the seasons unfold, a prerequisite for survival is balance. Barren periods long for those that are more fruitful. The measure of its success, indicative of the preceding phases. A good harvest bringing peace of mind for the unknown; less reliance on a good harvest offering a safety net for lean times.
