it never stops playing you,
reminding me of you fiercely!
The night is a moody creature,
and you are my wine, perfectly suited to its moods!

Now, the night…
its atmosphere leans toward love, toward you…
casting dreams and nightmares,
whispers and wishes with its shadows,
feeding my heart's firewood to imagination
so it burns even brighter!

If only it would bring you now,
on a runaway star!
On the wings of this breeze
carrying the scent of jasmine petals!
If only you would appear like magic,
a whirlwind,
and seep into my chest!

Hold me gently by my waist,
plant your kiss on my neck,
like a tipsy bird!
And let me linger in the palms of your hands,
lost until I find you again,
searching for you as if I’ve lost my soul!

I love it when you come to me in dreams,
holding me with the intense warmth of forty in your chest,
and shouting in my ear, “I’ll break you!”
I rejoice like a child when you draw your pen
like an ancient warrior, and sketch on my hand…
whispering, “scribbles… hmm, I’ll draw a cottage,
trees, birds, the sun, and a river!

No, I’ll draw your face;
the official symbol of love!
I love your face as it sinks
into the drowsiness of a moment
lost in my love!

And I love my hands and fingers touching
your peaceful drowsiness with wonder!
I accepted your laughter as a home, a cottage—no, a homeland.
