Brighton Seafront

It's been a while since I posted anything on the hive blockchain.. hectic working days here! But today I'm sharing four pictures from the time I was experimenting with High Dynamic Range photography, which is a technique (or a range of techniques) to combine in one single image the lightest light and the darkest dark you can capture with your camera. Each of those single images above are a combination of at least three captures (sometimes five), each with a different combination of shutter aperture and speed.

Brighton is a seaside city (in fact, part of the City of Brighton and Hove) in the South coast of England, in the East Sussex county. It is the go-to day trip destination for Londoners: in Summer, day-trippers come in thousands from the North. In the sea front there's an old structure of the Brighton Pier (nowadays known as the West Pier) - which suffered from a final fire in the 2000s - that is seen in three of the pictures. The first picture portrays the Brighton Beach Bandstand from 1884. In the final photograph, note the happy dog trotting by the water!
