Try This Double Edged Combo!
Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!
Painforge ability was introduced along with the coming of Conclave Arcana set last year. Units who have the ability gain power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally). It's an interesting ability that can be used strategically when comboed with other units that have Incendiary or Electrified debilitations.
Incendiary is a debilitation that applies Burning starting at round to to units that has it and can spread to either adjacent unit at the beginning of each round, then all Burning units lose 2 health.
The unit that has Electrified deals 1 damage to all allied Units at the beginning of each round.
The combo aims to turn the debilitations into a source of strength by increasing the power of the units that have the Painforge ability.
Sample Battle
This is a fun combo that I like to try from time to time. In this battle, I decided to live on the edge and include not one but two units with Electrified debilitation in the team. This means that while they do damage, they also decrease their team's health by two each round. It's a race between the damage they do to the enemy against the damage received plus the damage they do to their team.
The enemy and I both used the Water splinter. I went full offense and included the Shock Trooper and Water Diviner in my team. Both deal high damage for their mana but also has the Electrified debilitation. To add more power to the team, I included the Torrent Sniper who has Painforge. He will exchange his health for power since having the two Electrified units means the team losses two health each round but Torrent Sniper also gainst two attack power.
The enemy had the same idea but he only had the Shock Trooper in his team and his Painforge unit was the legendary Portia Nyr. He had a tankier build having a healer to sustain his first position unit. The results went in my favor as my more powerful magic units dismantled the enemy team. The damage output especially from Torrent Sniper can defeat the enemy in one hit.
