Exploring The Silver Thread Scenic Byway In Colorado

Greetings Hive!!!

This past weekend on Sunday, my children and I took a drive up Colorado Hwy 149, AKA The Silver Thread. The Silver Thread runs from Southfork, Creede, Lake City, and Gunnison in the North. This was our first drive all the way through the whole thing and we only had the day, but we did have fun with the drive, a visit to North Clear Creek Falls, and several stops for pics. These pics are the best out of the many that I did take with my new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G which has a ridiculous camera, especially for a phone 😆

This first pic was taken from the middle of the road about half way between Southfork and Creede

This magical photo was taken near the headwaters of the Rio Grande River, which runs alongside a good portion of this drive until it turns into the San Juan range, where it starts on Mount Namby

In this shot, I utilized this phones amazing zoom as I captured this shot of one of the tallest mounts in Colorado, Uncompahgre Peak

I call this shot The Giants Of The San Juan Mountains as these massive mounts are in the upper 13 thousand height range with one over 14 thousand

Finally, I have this video of North Clear Creek Falls.

Of course none of these photos, nor the video can take the place of actually being there and experiencing the wonders of our awesome Mother Earth, so get out if you can wherever you're at and stand in the awe and splendor of our Mother 🌎
