Teacup drawing in soft pastels

Its nice to switch to traditional art after a while. I wanted to do a quick drawing today with my pastel paper which I've only used once for the dog painting I did in gouache. So I picked up my Marco Raffine Soft pastels which I've used on two drawings so far to do something with them.

I settled on a teacup because it's quite easy to draw with the limited time I had.

The last time I used pastels was on white watercolor papers so I guess it didn't have the teeth necessary to hold. It has some but probably not like this paper. Also, it was not toned. It's easier to draw on toned paper that pastels were made for as you don't have to work through all that chalkiness to get a decent background.

I'm still not a huge fan of how it stains my fingers but it was quick and easy, so that's definitely a pro for quick art.
