Admit When You Don't KNOW the Answer

Saying I DON'T KNOW is NOT a Deal Breaker. What is a deal breaker is pretending to know the answer and trying to fake knowing. With all the chatter about being authentic, one thing is knowing that we can't know everything.

One of the biggest mistakes early in my insurance career (I've had many) is trying to fake knowing an answer to a question.

I should have said, "No one has asked me that before and I'm not sure. But, I know how to find out and will get back to you. Will that work?"
